Sonoma Coast Villa: A History
When the original building was constructed in 1976, the Sonoma Coast Villa hosted only 6 guestrooms and was billed as a culinary destination by the owners of the Blue Boar Restaurant in San Francisco. They came to the Sonoma Coast and established the hotel and restaurant on the site of a former hog farm with the idea of getting closer to fresh ingredients from the local agricultural area. The spirit of this early farm-to-table concept lives on in our restaurant today, and we strive to use the freshest, local ingredients, including some from our own on-site organic garden. The hotel expanded several times, most recently in 2001, and now boasts 18 guestrooms, preserving the small inn feel and rustic charm that pervades the property.
The Next Chapter
The property was acquired by the Litchfield Family in 2010, and after several years leasing back to the former owner and innkeeper, the family took over hotel operations in the Summer of 2016. Now under new management, the Villa is recommitted to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. Under the guidance of General Manager Charlie Litchfield, we are revamping rooms, updating amenities, and enhancing our service to bring the Sonoma Coast Villa into a class of its own. We hope you’ll join us to experience the SCV difference sometime soon.
